Disaster Services focuses on preparedness, prevention, mitigation, and response. The Chapter has a diverse array of courses and presentations for both individuals and groups.
All Red Cross disaster assistance is provides at no cost and is made possible by generous contributions from those who live and work in Arlington County, and all over the world.
In most cases, clients are referred to us by the Fire Department. If you have experienced a disaster and you have immediate disaster-related needs, call the Chapter at 703.527.3010 x733.

The Red Cross provides assistance, 24 hours a day to people who experience disasters. Services can include:

Providing shelter to those who cannot get back into their homes.

Replacing food, clothing, and other lost items.

Providing first aid and mental support to relief workers, those affected and volunteers.

Providing drinks, food and supplies to relief personnel.

Providing referrals for other available resources.

Responding to inquiries from concerned family members outside the disaster area
